This Bracket Relocation Kit is required when installing Passenger Footboard Kit (50602-00) and/or Rear Saddlebag Guard Kit (49261-00) on model year 2000 and later FLSTC models with factory-installed leather saddlebags, and with Heritage Springer Rear Saddlebag Guard Kit (49258-00).

INSTALLATION
| 1. | Refer to the applicable Service Manual and remove saddlebag and saddlebag support bracket from one side of the motorcycle. | |
| 2. | See Figure 1. Remove passenger footpeg (1) by removing bolt, nut and washer from support (5). | |
| 3. | If the Rear Dresser Bar Kit (49261-00 or 49258-00) is to be installed, follow instructions included in that kit to install dresser bar top flange to rear fender support. | |
| 4. | See Figure 2. Position the 3/8 in. diameter round hole end of saddlebag relocation bracket (from kit) against inboard surface of motorcycle frame member at point where passenger footpeg (or passenger footboard mount) attaches. If dresser bar is being installed, position bottom flange of dresser bar against inboard surface of relocation bracket. | |
| 5. | Determine your model application, and follow the applicable installation procedure below: | |
| 6. | On models with passenger footpeg and
saddlebag relocation bracket, see Figure 2. On models with passenger footpegs and
toolbox:On models with Passenger Footboard Kit
(50602-00), see Figure 3. a. Install 3/8-16 socket head bolt from dresser bar kit through footpeg support. b. Install support to frame. Tighten support bolt to 61 N·m (45 ft-lbs). c. Position saddlebag relocation bracket over bolt. d. Install lower dresser bar flange over bolt. e. Install 3/8-16 locknut to end of bolt. Tighten nut to 61 N·m (45 ft-lbs). f. Install footpeg. g. If not already connected, attach loose end (with slotted hole) of relocation bracket to the lower front leg of saddlebag support with the bolt, washer, and locknut included in this kit. Tighten locknut to 23–25 N·m (17–19 ft-lbs). h. Tighten footpeg mount to 47.5–61 N·m (35–45 ft-lbs). i. Install 3/8-16 hex socket head bolt from dresser bar kit, from the inboard side of the motorcycle, through hole in dresser bar bottom flange, saddlebag relocation bracket into the motorcycle frame member. Tighten bolt to 61 N·m (45 ft-lbs). j. Install passenger footpeg spacer to the end of the bolt. Tighten footpeg spacer to 61 N·m (45 ft-lbs). k. Install passenger footpeg support to end of footpeg spacer. Tighten to 61 N·m (45 ft-lbs). l. Install footpeg. m. If not already connected, attach loose end ( with slotted hole ) of relocation bracket to the lower front leg of saddlebag support with the bolt, washer, and locknut included in this kit; tighten locknut to 23–25 N·m (17–19 ft-lbs). n. Follow Footboard Kit instructions to install footboard assembly to footboard mount. o. Install passenger footboard mount bolt through holes in tool box bracket (if equipped), motorcycle frame member, saddlebag relocation bracket, and dresser bar bottom flange (if equipped). Be certain that the "forked" bracket on footboard mount engages the hex head of rear suspension pivot bolt. p. Install flat washer and hex locknut (3/8-16), finger-tight to end of mount bolt. q. Attach loose end (with slotted hole) of relocation bracket to the lower, front leg of the saddlebag support with bolt, washer and locknut included in this kit. Tighten locknut 23–25 N·m (17–19 ft-lbs). r. Tighten locknut to footboard mount bolt to 61 N·m (45 ft-lbs). s. Follow Footboard Kit instructions to install footboard assembly to footboard mount. | |
| 7. | Install saddlebag to motorcycle. | |
| 8. | Repeat Steps 1 through 6 for installation of saddlebag relocation bracket on opposite side of motorcycle. |
