1. | See Figure 2. Remove acorn nut (A). Remove washer (B). Save hardware for installation. | |
2. | Slide power port (1) onto stud. The bracket is designed to nest over the existing horn bracket. | |
3. | Install washer. Install acorn nut. Tighten nut to 13.6–20.3 N·m (120–180 in-lbs) |
4. | Route harness along backbone of frame to battery. | |
5. | 2006 and later Dyna models: See Figure 2. Open fuse holder (F). Remove fuse. Route ring terminals (D and E) and fuse holder through opening into battery compartment. Install fuse. Cover fuse. | |
6. | Secure harness with cable straps (2). | |
WARNING Connect positive (+) battery cable first. If positive (+) cable should contact ground with negative (-) cable connected, the resulting sparks can cause a battery explosion, which could result in death or serious injury. (00068a) | ||
7. | Refer to the view in Figure 1 used for disassembly. Install the positive (red) ring terminal (E) on the positive battery post in the sequence shown. Tighten the positive terminal post bolt to the value shown in the owner's manual. | |
8. | Attach the negative (black) lead of the ring terminal (D) to the negative battery post in the sequence shown. Tighten the negative terminal post bolt to the value shown in the owner's manual. | |
