Installation Requirements
FLTRXSTSE models: Separate purchase of Front Support Mounts (Part No. 47200302A - qty of 2) is required. See service manual for removal of old front supports and install of new supports.
WARNING
Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)
NOTE
This instruction sheet references service manual information. A service manual for the year and model motorcycle is required for this installation and is available from:
PREPARE
1. Set motorcycle upright. See Secure the Motorcycle for Service in the service manual.
REMOVE
1. Remove Original Equipment (OE) pivot screw nuts and pivot screws. See the service manual.
2. Remove OE footboards. See the service manual.
3.
NOTE
Save screw for install.
Remove OE forward bracket. See the service manual.
INSTALL
1. Clean and inspect footboard brackets. Replace if worn, rusted or damaged.
2. See Figure 1. Install footboard.
a. Install new front rider footboard bracket (3) using OE fasteners.
b. Install new shoulder bolts (1) and footboard (4).
c. Tighten front rider footboard bracket (3) fastener. See the service manual.
d. Apply threadlocker and install nut (2). Tighten.
Torque: 6.8–9 N·m (60–80 in-lbs)
3. Check that foorboard pivots freely on screws (1).
4. Repeat for opposite side.
NOTE
Avoid contacting chrome surfaces with abrasive materials (stones, sand, etc.) as damage will result.
REPLACE WEAR PLATE
1. Remove screws (6).
2. Replace wear peg (5).
3. Apply threadlocker to threads of screws and install. Tighten.
Torque: 2 N·m (18 in-lbs)
