Installation Requirements
WARNING
Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)
NOTE
This instruction sheet references service manual information. A service manual and Electrical Diagnostic Manual (EDM) for the year and model motorcycle is required for this installation and is available from:
  • 2024-Later FLHX and FLTRX: Separate purchase of a Saddlebag Speaker Kit (Part No.'s 76001291, 76001292, or 76001299) is required for this installation.
  • 2024-Later FLHX and FLTRX: Separate purchase of Harley-Davidson Primary Amplifier (Part No. 76001294) is required for this installation.
  • 2024-later FLHX and FLTRX: Separate purchase of Saddlebag Speaker Lid Kit is required for this installation. Contact a Harley-Davidson dealership.
Installation by a technician at a Harley-Davidson dealership is recommended.
To ensure proper audio performance, speaker set up in the Infotainment Control Unit (IFCU) OR Digital Technician II (DT II) is required for audio configuration and amplifier firmware update.
PREPARE
NOTE
Models with security: Disable security system.
1. Remove left and right saddlebags. See service manual.
2. Remove left and right side covers. See service manual.
3. Remove main fuse. See service manual.
4. Remove seat.
MODIFY SADDLEBAG
1. Figure 2 Position drill template on right saddlebag.
NOTE
Take extreme caution not to damage the painted surface.
It is recommended to mark holes with a soft tip marker, then measuring the marks with a scale or calipers to ensure proper hole alignment to the internal harness panel.
a. Install drill template (1) over grommet (2).
b. Follow contour (3) of saddlebag under grommet (2).
c. Fold drill template (1) over bottom of saddlebag.
d. Drill template (1) should have flat surface contact on either side of the saddlebag bottom.
e. Use tape (4) to secure drill template (1).
2. Modify right saddlebag.
a. Center punch drill template locations (A, B).
b. Drill six holes at location (A).
Diameter: 6 mm (¼ in)
c. Drill two holes at location (B).
Diameter: 70 mm (2¾ in)
d. De-burr hole by lightly sanding the surface.
3. Repeat procedure for opposite side.

INSTALL
1. Figure 4 Install harness panel gasket.
a. Align holes and outer edge of gasket (3) with outer edge of harness panel (1).
NOTE
Adhesive side faces harness panel.
b. Install gasket on harness panel.
2. Install saddle bag harness connector.
a. Install saddle bag harness connector (2).
b. Route harness (4) as shown.
c. Install harness panel cover (5).
3. Figure 3 Install harness panel.
a. Install harness panel (6).
b. Install screws (7). Tighten.
Torque: 1.1–1.5 N·m (10–13 in-lbs) Screw, saddlebag, internal harness panel
4. Connect saddlebag harness.
a. Connect speaker connections (5).
b. If needed, connect power lock connector (4).
c. Install new wire retainers (9) and cable straps (10) as needed. Figure 1

EXTERNAL HARNESS
1. See Figure 5 and Figure 6. Route saddlebag speaker harness (Part No. 69203357, from kit) along frame.
a. Cut cable to non-connector ends (pins).
b. Locate Original Equipment (OE) 12-way connector [C7A] (1).
c. Route both harness ends along left and right frame to OE connector [C7A].
d. Make sure longer length of harness is routed on right side.
2. Figure 7 Remove plugs from cavity's 5, 6, 7, and 8 (5-8) of connector [C7A]..
3. Install (LBE/O) terminal pin into cavity 5 (5) of connector [C7A].
4. Install (LBE/GY) terminal pin into cavity 6 (6) of connector [C7A].
5. Install (LBE) terminal pin into cavity 7 (7) of connector [C7A].
6. Install (LBE/BK) terminal pin into cavity 8 (8) of connector [C7A].
7. Figure 6 Using cable straps (2), loosely install harness to anchor points (1). Do not tighten cable straps.
8. Figure 8 Install saddlebag to check harness length.
a. Leave enough length to easily connect to saddlebag.
b. Connect external saddlebag harness to internal harness to saddlebag.
9. Secure rest of harness with cable straps as needed.
10. Remove saddlebag and disconnect harness.

COMPLETE
NOTE
To prevent possible damage to the sound system, verify that the ignition is OFF before installing the main fuse.
1. Install main fuse. See service manual.
2. Install left and right side cover. See service manual.
3. Install left and right saddlebag. See service manual.
a. Connect external saddlebag harness to internal harness to saddlebag.
4. Install seat. After installing seat, pull upward on seat to be sure it is locked in position.
5. Turn ignition ON, but do not start vehicle.
6. Make sure that all speakers are working properly. Check that front and rear fader function is operating correctly. If not, check speaker wiring.
