Installation Requirements
These items are available at your local Harley-Davidson dealership.
- See Figure 3 to identify which Windshield Mounting Blocks are currently installed on your vehicle.
- Kits 57400600, 57400601, 57400602, 57400603, 57400688: Requires Tall Windshield Mounting Blocks (Part No. 57400668).
- Kit 57400597: Requires Short Windshield Mounting Blocks (Part No. 57400687).

INSTALL
Mounting Blocks

Wind Splitter Windshield
| 1. | See Figure 4. Slide wind splitter windshield (4) into isolators (5). | |
| 2. | Install grommets (2). a. Spray grommets with a 50/50 isopropyl alcohol/water solution. This will help align the grommets in the windshield. | |
| 3. | Install screws (1). Tighten. Torque: 3.5–4.5 N·m (31–40 in-lbs) |
NOTE
Check mounting hardware periodically. Never ride with loose mounts. A loose mounting causes extra stress on all other mounts, as well as windshield itself, and could result in premature failure of components.

MAINTENANCE
Care and Cleaning
NOTICE
Polycarbonate windshields/wind deflectors require proper attention and care to maintain. Failure to maintain polycarbonate properly can result in damage to the windshield/wind deflector. (00483e)
- Do not use benzene, paint thinner, gasoline or any other type of harsh cleaner on the windshield. Doing so damages the surface.
- Do not clean in hot sun or high temperature.
- Powdered, abrasive or alkaline cleanser damages the windshield.
- Sunlight reflections off the inside curvature of a windshield can, at certain times of the day, cause extreme heat build-up on motorcycle instruments. Exercise care in parking. Park facing the sun, place an opaque object over the instruments, or adjust the windshield to avoid reflections.
- After washing and drying windshield, make sure that windshield is properly seated in grommets prior to operating vehicle.
NOTICE
Use only Harley-Davidson recommended products on Harley-Davidson windshields. Do not use harsh chemicals or rain sheeting products, which can cause windshield surface damage, such as dulling or hazing. (00231c)
- Never scrape windshield with a razor or other sharp instruments because permanent damage will result.
- Covering windshield with a clean, wet cloth for about 15 minutes before washing will make dried bug removal easier.
