Installation Requirements
All models except XG500, XG750, and XG750A require separate purchase of 67700455 Bucket Kit. Refer to instruction sheet in that kit to install this headlamp and bucket to the vehicle.
Electrical Contact Lube (H-D Part No. 99861-02) or equivalent is required after battery cable disconnection. This item is available from a Harley-Davidson dealer.
WARNING
Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)
NOTE
This instruction sheet refers to service manual information. A service manual for this year/model motorcycle is required for this installation and is available from a Harley-Davidson dealer.
Kit Contents
Kit include a headlamp, rubber gasket and adapter harness.
PREPARATION
WARNING
To prevent accidental vehicle start-up, which could cause death or serious injury, remove main fuse before proceeding. (00251b)
NOTE
For vehicles equipped with security siren:
  • Verify that the Hands-Free Fob is present. Turn the ignition key switch to IGNITION.
  1. Remove main fuse. See service manual.
REMOVAL
  1. Refer to the service manual and follow the instructions given to perform these generalized steps:
    1. Remove the headlamp. Retain the mounting ring and screws for installation.
    2. Disconnect the headlamp bulb from the motorcycle harness connector block. Discard the headlamp.
INSTALLATION
  1. Plug the headlamp connector of the LED headlamp into the wire harness connector block inside the headlamp bucket.
  2. If the previous headlamp had a rubber gasket installed around it, install the new rubber gasket from this kit around the LED lamp.
  3. Place the new headlamp into the bucket and install the headlamp assembly components per the service manual.
RETURN TO SERVICE
NOTE
Verify that the ignition key switch is in the OFF position before installing the main fuse or attaching the negative battery cable.
1. Install the main fuse. See service manual.
2. Test the headlamp for proper operation.
3. If necessary, check and align the headlamp. See service manual.
4. If removed, install the seat. After installing seat, pull up on the seat to verify that it is secure. See service manual.
