Installation Requirements
WARNING
Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)
NOTE
This instruction sheet references service manual information. A service manual for the year and model motorcycle is required for this installation and is available from:
NOTE
  • Ambient temperature must be between 21-38 °C (70-100 °F) for proper adhesion. Do not install under 10 °C (50 °F).
  • Allow at least 24 hours after installation before exposing area to vigorous washing, strong water spray or extreme weather.
  • Adhesive bond will increase to maximum strength after about 72 hours at normal room temperature.
PREPARE
1. Remove main fuse. See service manual.
2. Remove seat. See service manual.
LIGHTS
NOTE
  • Kits 67801023 and 67801024: use with Original Equipment (OE) or OE replacement brake and turn signal lamps.
  • Kits 67801446 and 67801447: use with OE or OE replacement brake lamps.
REMOVE
NOTE
Reflectors on some Canadian models are installed below saddlebag lids. These reflectors must be removed. To remain in compliance, install reflectors directly below Electro Glo LED saddlebag run/brake/turn lights.
1. Remove saddlebag reflectors if installed.
2. Clean saddlebag in area of installation with 50:50 mix of isopropyl alcohol and water.
3. Allow to dry completely.
INSTALL
NOTE
Lights are identified with an (L) for left or (R) for right, imprinted on lens.
1. Position light approximately 3.2 mm (1/8 in) below bottom edge of saddlebag lid when closed.
2. Use a grease pencil to mark location.
3. Remove adhesive backing from light assembly.
4. Install light using marks made earlier as a guide.
5. Apply firm even pressure.
6. Do not use extreme pressure over lens area.
7. If equipped, install saddlebag reflectors directly below newly installed saddlebag run/brake/turn lights.
8. Remove saddlebag. See owner's manual.
9. Figure 2 Route wiring forward along vehicle side of saddlebag.
a. Clean attachment areas with a 50:50 mix of rubbing alcohol and water.
b. Secure wiring to saddlebag surface with two wire retainers (1) and cable straps (2).
10. Repeat for remaining saddlebag light.

MODULE/WIRING
INSTALL
1. Figure 3 Route rear lighting Y-harness and left saddlebag light harness (3-way socket connector) back along left upper frame (5).
2. Route right saddlebag light harness (3-way pin connector) along right upper frame (6).
3. Separate rear lighting connector [7] (3,4).
4. Attach 6-terminal connectors from Y-harness to each separated connector half.
5. Figure 4 Secure new harnesses along inside of upper frame tubes with two cable straps per side.
6. Cross to outside of frame rear of upper shock absorber attachment point.
7. Install saddlebags. See owner's manual.
8. Connect saddlebag light connectors during installation.

1. Install seat. After installing seat, pull up on seat to verify that it is secure. See service manual.
2. Install main fuse. See service manual.
3. Turn ignition on.
4. Test rear stop/tail/turn and hazard lighting functions.
