1. | Remove main fuse. See service manual. | |
2. | Remove seat. See service manual. |
1. | Remove saddlebag reflectors if installed. | |
2. | Clean saddlebag in area of installation with 50:50 mix of isopropyl alcohol and water. | |
3. | Allow to dry completely. |
1. | Position light approximately 3.2 mm (1/8 in) below bottom edge of saddlebag lid when closed. | |
2. | Use a grease pencil to mark location. | |
3. | Remove adhesive backing from light assembly. | |
4. | Install light using marks made earlier as a guide. | |
5. | Apply firm even pressure. | |
6. | Do not use extreme pressure over lens area. | |
7. | If equipped, install saddlebag reflectors directly below newly installed saddlebag run/brake/turn lights. | |
8. | Remove saddlebag. See owner's manual. | |
9. | Figure 2 Route wiring forward along vehicle side of saddlebag. a. Clean attachment areas with a 50:50 mix of rubbing alcohol and water. b. Secure wiring to saddlebag surface with two wire retainers (1) and cable straps (2). | |
10. | Repeat for remaining saddlebag light. |
1. | Figure 3 Route rear lighting Y-harness and left saddlebag light harness (3-way socket connector) back along left upper frame (5). | |
2. | Route right saddlebag light harness (3-way pin connector) along right upper frame (6). | |
3. | Separate rear lighting connector [7] (3,4). | |
4. | Attach 6-terminal connectors from Y-harness to each separated connector half. | |
5. | Figure 4 Secure new harnesses along inside of upper frame tubes with two cable straps per side. | |
6. | Cross to outside of frame rear of upper shock absorber attachment point. | |
7. | Install saddlebags. See owner's manual. | |
8. | Connect saddlebag light connectors during installation. |

1. | Install seat. After installing seat, pull up on seat to verify that it is secure. See service manual. | |
