If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. INSTALL
| 1. | Figure 1 Install brake pedal assembly. a. Install brake pedal assembly (3) to footpeg mounting bracket (1) with washer (16) and retaining ring clip (17). b. Install brake pedal crank assembly (7) to footpeg mounting bracket (1) with washer (16) and retaining ring clip (17). NOTE Orientation of crank (7) needs to be as shown in Figure 1 with short arm towards bracket (1). c. Install brake pedal rod (4) with two screws (8). Tighten. Torque: 20.3–24.4 N·m (15–18 ft-lbs) d. Install brake pedal crank (5) to brake pedal bracket sub-assembly (2) with screw (15), washer (9), washer (10) and locknut (11). Tighten. Torque: 24.4–30 N·m (18–22 ft-lbs) e. Install brake pedal rod (6) and two screws (8). Tighten. Torque: 20.3–24.4 N·m (15–18 ft-lbs) | |
