Electrical Requirements
WARNING
When installing any electrical accessory, be certain not to exceed the maximum amperage rating of the fuse or circuit breaker protecting the affected circuit being modified. Exceeding the maximum amperage can lead to electrical failures, which could result in death or serious injury. (00310a)
NOTICE
It is possible to overload the vehicle's charging system by adding too many electrical accessories. If the combined electrical accessories operating at any one time consume more electrical current than the vehicle's charging system can produce, the electrical consumption can discharge the battery and cause damage to the vehicle's electrical system. (00211d)
This amplifier requires up to 8 amps more current from the electrical system.
Installation Requirements
WARNING
Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)
NOTE
This instruction sheet references service manual information. A service manual for the year and model motorcycle is required for this installation and is available from:
Download Harley-Davidson audio app.
Use this kit in conjunction with other Harley-Davidson Audio powered by Rockford Fosgate® kits.
These items are available at a Harley-Davidson dealership:
  • Separate purchase of Harley-Davidson Audio powered by Rockford Fosgate - Amplifier 400W 4-Channel (Primary) (Part No. 76000997) is required for installation.
  • Separate purchase of Harley-Davidson Audio powered by Rockford Fosgate Stage I & II Speaker Kit - Frame Mounted Fairing (Part No. 76000982 And 76000983) is required for installation.
  • Separate purchase of Harley-Davidson Audio powered by Rockford Fosgate Fairing Speaker Harness Install Kit (Part No. 76000992) is required for installation.

NOTE
If it is desired to install the liner with the amplifier, it will be necessary to modify the liner to fit over the amplifier and cover.
a. From left inner trunk wall, mark first vertical dimension: 1.625 in. (41 mm) (1).
b. From bottom of trunk floor, mark first horizontal dimension: 4.00 in. (102 mm) (4).
NOTE
Make sure measurements are concise and square.
c. Mark 3.75 in. (95 mm) (3) x 10.00 in. (254 mm) (2) dimensions.
d. Drill four 5/16 in. (8 mm) (5) holes.

4. Prepare trunk liner.
a. Install liner in trunk.
b. Mark rear of liner using the four holes made in step 3.
c. Drill a 6 mm (¼ in) hole in each of the four marked locations on liner.
d. Install amplifier cover to front side of liner using screws provided in kit.
e. Mark amplifier cover edge locations on liner.
f. Mark diagonal corners on liner.
g. Remove amplifier cover from liner.
NOTE
It is suggested to make first cut as one continuous stroke, this way the visible cut will look more clean. If needed, repeat with smaller cuts on same path. Make sure cut is all the way through the liner.
It is highly recommended to use a straight edge as a guide. Line up straight edge accordingly on intended path of cut. Position blade in desired angle and pull along path of the straight edge. Make sure blade remains aligned with marked path.
Do not use amplifier cover as a guide, as there is a risk of cutting into it.
h. Cut liner with a sharp utility knife using a straight edge.
i. Once all four sides have been cut in liner, cut corner notches to connect longer cuts.
j. Press out cut liner gently. Make sure to cut any remaining attached threads.
k. Insert bottom edge of amplifier cover into hole of liner. Check fit before installing in trunk.

BLUETOOTH DONGLE HARNESS
The Bluetooth Dongle is a audio communication component. In conjunction with H-D audio app, it can assign amplifiers and speaker channels or enhance the sound by widening the frequency range with an additional equalizer. The dongle CANNOT be used as a communications device between your phone and the vehicle's radio.
