Installation Requirements
WARNING
Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)
NOTE
This instruction sheet refers to service manual information. A service manual for this year/model motorcycle is required for this installation. One is available from a Harley-Davidson dealer.

INSTALLATION
NOTE
Cover painted parts to protect finish.
  1. See Figure 1. 2013 and Earlier Touring Models:2014 and Later Touring Models:ALL Other Models:
    1. See the service manual to remove the fairing.
    2. Remove and retain the two cap screws (C) beneath the upper fork bracket that hold the existing lower handlebar risers (B) in place.
    3. Move the handlebar assembly (A) from the installed position. Carefully allow gauges and handlebar to rest on vehicle.
    4. Remove and discard cup washers (D), rubber bushings (E) and spacers (F).

    2. Remove and discard the two cap screws (C) beneath the upper fork bracket that hold the existing lower handlebar risers (B) in place.
    3. Move the handlebar assembly (A) from the installed position. Carefully allow gauges and handlebar to rest on vehicle.
    4. Remove and discard cup washers (D), rubber bushings (E) and spacers (F).
    1. Remove and retain the two cap screws (C) beneath the upper fork bracket that hold the existing lower handlebar risers (B) in place.
    2. Move the handlebar assembly (A) from the installed position. Carefully allow gauges and handlebar to rest on vehicle.
    3. Remove and discard cup washers (D), rubber bushings (E) and spacers (F).
  2. NOTE
    The new upper and lower bushings must be oriented with the larger diameter ends opposite each other as shown.
  3. Install the new polyurethane riser bushings (1) in place of the removed cup washers, bushings and spacers.
  4. Align components as shown in Figure 1.
  5. 2014 and Later Touring Models: Secure components with two new hex head cap screws (2). Insert the cap screws, from the bottom, through the upper fork bracket, through the bushings (1) and into the handlebar risers. See the service manual for torque specification. ALL Other Models: Secure components with two hex head cap screws (C) removed in Step 1. Insert the cap screws, from the bottom, through the upper fork bracket, through the bushings (1) and into the handlebar risers. See the service manual for torque specification.
  6. See the service manual to install the handlebars.
  7. Touring Models: Install the fairing per the service manual.
