Installation Requirements
WARNINGRider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit.
If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation.
Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00308b)
INSTALL
| 1. | See Figure 1. Remove and save Original Equipment (OE) air cleaner cover screw (A). | |
| 2. | Install mounting bracket (2) with screw (A). a. Position a bracket arm at the 12 o'clock position. b. Tighten screw (A). Torque: 3.4–6.8 N·m (30–60 in-lbs) | |
| 3. | Install air cleaner cover (1) to bracket (2). a. Align holes in cover with holes in bracket. b. Install and partially tighten each screw (3). c. Tighten screws (3) in a star pattern. Torque: 3.4–4.2 N·m (30–37 in-lbs) | |
| 4. | If OE intake is removed, apply Warning Label (if included) in a clearly visible area. Harley-Davidson suggests attaching the sticker to the following: a. Softail: Right side lower fender b. Dyna: Right side swing arm. c. Touring/Trike: Inner primary topside or side cover. |
