This kit is a direct replacement for the original equipment (OE) clutch pack, and installs in the same manner.

If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. INSTALLATION
Follow the service manual instructions to install the friction discs and spacer discs but follow these important guidelines:
| 1. | Remove the eight friction discs, six spacer discs, damper spring and damper spring seat from the clutch assembly following the instructions in the service manual. NOTE The spacer discs supplied in this kit must be used with the friction discs supplied in this kit. Do not use the original equipment spacer discs with this kit. | |
NOTICE Do not reinstall the damper spring and/or damper spring seat with this kit. Doing so will affect the stacked height of the clutch discs. Failure to comply could result in premature clutch failure and possible engine damage. (00459c) | ||
| 2. | See Figure 1. Install a friction disc (1) into the clutch shell first, then alternate spacer discs (2) and friction discs. | |
| 3. | Complete the final assembly following the instructions in the service manual. |
