Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. NOTE
This instruction sheet references service manual information. A service manual for your model motorcycle is required for this installation and is available from a Harley-Davidson Dealer.
INSTALLATION
1. Insert three screws from kit into countersunk holes in molding with long screw located at center of molding.
2. Slip rubber spacers from kit onto screws with countersunk end facing the molding.
NOTE
Be careful that windshield does not fall after screws are removed in step 3.
3. With a T27 Torx® driver, remove the three screws and washers at the bottom of the windshield. DO NOT REMOVE OUTER FAIRING.
4. Align the windshield molding with the three mounting holes and thread screws into threaded inserts in inner fairing.
NOTE
In the following step, do not exceed 30 in-lbs to avoid damage to the inner fairing.
5. Check that molding is symmetrically positioned and tighten screws to 2.8–3.3 N·m (25–30 in-lbs).
