Installation Requirements
WARNING
Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)
PREPARE
WARNING
To prevent accidental vehicle start-up, which could cause death or serious injury, remove main fuse before proceeding. (00251b)
1. Remove main fuse. See service manual.
REMOVE
1. Remove windshield. See service manual.
2. Remove outer fairing. See service manual.
3. Remove headlight. See service manual.
INSTALL
NOTE
  • Verify that ambient temperature is at least 16 °C (60 °F) for proper adhesion of the hidden antenna to the vehicle.
  • Allow AT LEAST 24 hours after applying the antenna before exposing the area to vigorous washing, strong water spray or extreme weather.
  • The adhesive bond will increase to maximum strength after about 72 hours at normal room temperature.
1. See Figure 2 or Figure 3. Clean the antenna mounting surface under the windshield vent with the alcohol pad (see Figure 1 , Item 5). Mount the antenna as shown in the correct figure.
2. Plug the antenna harness connector into P&A Power Accessory connector [299] (2).
3. For Vehicles with Accessory Amplifier Installed: Separate purchase and installation of the Accessory Power Y-Connector (Part No. 69200921) is required.
4. Unplug the original equipment (OE) AM/FM connector. Plug in the antenna connector (3). Plug the OE AM/FM connector into the antenna connector.
5. Route the antenna wires around speaker pods. Secure with wire retainers and cable straps. Clean wire retainer mounting surfaces with the alcohol pad before adhering the retainer.
6. See Figure 1. FLHX Models: Remove the grommet from the antenna clearance hole in the rear fender fascia. Install the hole plug (9) from the kit. ALL Models: Remove the OE AM/FM antenna mast from the rear of the vehicle. Install the antenna thread protector (8) over the antenna base.
COMPLETE
NOTE
To prevent possible damage to the sound system, verify that the ignition switch is OFF before installing the main fuse.
1. Install main fuse. See service manual.
2. See . Check for antenna function. The red LED on the antenna body should illuminate with the ignition switch in the ACCY or IGN position. If it does not, check the inline fuse (3) on the red antenna power wire or the vehicle accessory fuse.

NOTE
Installation of the hidden antenna could result in a slight reduction of AM signal reception in certain urban and rural locations.
Test the radio function on the AM, FM and Weather bands to verify that the antenna is working properly.
