Installation Requirements
WARNINGRider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)
NOTE
This instruction sheet references service manual information. A service manual for the year and model motorcycle is required for this installation and is available from:

Proper installation of this kit requires:
- Separate purchase of threadlocker is required. LOCTITE 243 MEDIUM STRENGTH THREADLOCKER AND SEALANT (BLUE) (99642-97)
INSTALL
| 1. | See Figure 2. Apply threadlocker to screw threads (1, 7) prior to assembly.LOCTITE 243 MEDIUM STRENGTH THREADLOCKER AND SEALANT (BLUE) (99642-97) a. For model and screw requirements Refer to Table 3. | |
| 2. | Pre-assemble right side of adaptor kit. a. Install screw (1) through washer (2), right base (3), and thread into threaded rod (4) until snug. b. For Kit 43000159, right base (3) has a notch at top that needs to be aligned with the fork down tube. | |
| 3. | Install O-ring (5) one inch from the left end of the threaded rod (4). | |
| 4. | Insert adaptor kit into axle from the right side. NOTE Slight gap between left base (6) and fork slider is normal once installed. | |
| 5. | Install screw (7) through washer (2) and left base (6) while holding right side. Tighten. Torque: 11.3 N·m (100 in-lbs) a. For Kit 43000159, left base (6) has a notch at top that needs to be aligned with the fork down tube. |
