Installation Requirements
WARNING
Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)
NOTE
This instruction sheet references service manual information. A service manual for your model motorcycle is required for this installation and is available from a Harley-Davidson dealer.
Proper installation of this kit requires Loctite® 243 Threadlocker and Sealant - Blue (Part No. 99642-97).
INSTALL
1. Remove hardware fastening existing footpegs to footpeg support. Save hardware for installation.
2. Save all hardware for installation of the new footpegs.
3. Remove existing footpegs and spring washers. Save spring washers for installation.
NOTE
See Figure 2. When performing the next step, verify that the spring washer is positioned inside of the footpeg support with the straight edge (2) towards the inside of the support.
4. See Figure 2. Install spring washer (1) and mount end of the footpeg into footpeg support slot (3).
5. Secure each footpeg and spring washer with hardware removed earlier.
6. See Figure 1. Adjust orientation:
a. Remove four screws (5) and foot peg trim (6).
b. For forward controls, foot surface to be parallel to mounting pin.
c. For mid controls, foot surface to be parallel to ground.
7. Secure adjustment screw (4). Tighten.
Torque: 28.5 N·m (21.0 ft-lbs)
8. Apply a drop of threadlocker to each screw (5).
9. Install trim and four screws (5). Tighten.
Torque: 1.13–1.36 N·m (10–12 in-lbs)
WARNING
Footrests must fold up and toward rear of motorcycle if struck. Failure to set footrests to fold up and back could result in death or serious injury. (00366a)

WEAR PEG REPLACEMENT
1. See Figure 1. Remove existing wear peg from footpeg.
2. Apply 2 or 3 drops of Loctite 243 to the wear peg (7). Install to footpeg. Tighten.
Torque: 4.52–5.08 N·m (40–45 in-lbs)
