Installation Requirements
WARNING
Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)
NOTE
This instruction sheet references service manual information. A service manual for the year and model motorcycle is required for this installation and is available from:
NOTE
  • Ambient temperature must be between 21-38°C (70-100°F) for proper adhesion. Do not install under 10°C (50°F).
  • Allow at least 24 hours after installation before exposing area to vigorous washing, strong water spray or extreme weather.
  • Adhesive bond will increase to maximum strength after about 72 hours at normal room temperature.
PREPARE
1. Remove main fuse. See service manual.
2. Remove seat. See service manual.
3. Remove saddlebags. See service manual.
LIGHTS
REMOVE
1. Remove nut (5). Do not remove screw (4). Screw is an aid in locating backplate.
INSTALL
NOTE
Lights are identified with an (L) for left or (R) for right, imprinted on lens.
1. See Figure 2. With adhesive backing (2) still in place, test fit the Run/Brake/Turn Auxiliary Light.
NOTE
Surface where tape is applied must be cleaned. Failure to clean this area results in a faulty installation.
2. Clean area on casting (5) where tape is installed with a mixture of equal parts of isopropyl alcohol and distilled water.
3. Allow to dry completely.
4. Remove adhesive tape backing (2).
5. Position bracket (1) over screw (4).
6. Apply firm sliding pressure in tape areas.
7. Install nut (6) on screw (4). Tighten.
Torque: 20.3–27.1 N·m (15–20 ft-lbs)
8. Install LED light (3).
9. Install screws (7). Tighten.
Torque: 0.9 N·m (8 in-lbs)
NOTE
Use caution when tightening screws (7). Over tightening screws will crack the LED light.
10. Repeat previous steps for other side.

MODULE/WIRING
INSTALL
1. See Figure 3. Route rear lighting Y-harness and left saddlebag light harness (4 and 6-pin connectors) back along left upper frame (5).
2. Route right saddlebag light harness (4 and 6-pin connectors) along right upper frame (6).
3. Separate rear lighting connector [7] (3,4).
4. Attach 6-terminal connectors from Y-harness to each separated connector half.
5. Secure new harnesses along inside of upper frame tubes with two cable straps per side.
6. Cross to outside of frame rear of upper shock absorber attachment point.

1. Install saddlebags. See service manual.
2. Install seat. After installing seat, pull up on the seat to verify that it is secure. See service manual.
3. Install main fuse. See service manual.
4. Turn ignition on.
5. Test rear stop/tail/turn and hazard lighting functions.
