If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. PREPARE
WARNINGTo prevent accidental vehicle start-up, which could cause death or serious injury, remove main fuse before proceeding. (00251b)

INSTALL
| 1. | Locate drill template in kit. | |
| 2. | See Figure 2. Tape templates (2 and 3) onto top case as shown. | |
| 3. | Mark locations (1) where to drill. | |
| 4. | See Figure 3. Drill holes in top case. Diameter: 6.5 mm (0.256 in) a. Deburr the holes. | |
| 5. | Apply threadlocker to screws.LOCTITE 243 MEDIUM STRENGTH THREADLOCKER AND SEALANT (BLUE) (99642-97) | |
| 6. | See Figure 4. Install lower backrest (2). | |
| 7. | Install screws (2). | |
| 8. | Install upper backrest (1). | |
| 9. | Install screws (2). | |
| 10. | Tighten screws (2). Torque: 5.5 N·m (49 in-lbs) Backrest screw |
