Installation Requirements
WARNING
Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)

This instruction sheet references service manual information. A service manual for the year and model motorcycle is required for this installation and is available from:

Separate purchase of Harley-Davison Passenger Footrest Kit is required for a complete installation.
REMOVE
1. See Figure 2. Remove Original Equipment (OE) screws (2) from exhaust guard (1). Discard screws.

INSTALL
1. See Figure 3. Install heel guard (1) and screws (2). Tighten.
Torque: 5.2–7 N·m (4–5 ft-lbs)
2. See Figure 4. Install right footpeg bracket.
a. Install reducer (3). Tighten.
Torque: 86–95 N·m (63–70 ft-lbs)
b. Install spacer (2), footpeg bracket (1) and long screw (5).
c. Install long screw (5) and locknut (4).
d. Tighten screws.
Torque: 41 N·m (30 ft-lbs)
3. See Figure 6. Install cable strap (1) around brake lines.
a. Verify that brake lines do not touch and rub against right support.
b. Cut any excess length of cable strap.
4. See Figure 5. Install left footpeg bracket.
a. Install spacer (4), left footpeg bracket (2) and long screw (3).
b. Install short screw (1).
c. Tighten screws (1,3).
Torque: 35 N·m (26 ft-lbs)
5. Install footpegs.

b. See Installation Requirements.
NOTE
Refer to Table 2. Detent plate (12) allows for two different footpeg fold-up locations. Check that both left and right sides are using the same positions on detent plate to ensure similar footpeg fold-up across vehicle.
