Installation Requirements
2014 and later Touring models equipped with the Boom! Box 4.3 radio: To enable Apple CarPlay, the Boom!™ Box GTS functionality will require a new USB cable installation.
2014-2018 Touring models equipped with the Boom! Box 6.5GT radio: To enable Apple CarPlay, the Boom!™ Box GTS functionality will require a new USB cable installation.
  • USB Cable for Fork-Mounted Fairing vehicles (Part No. 69200031A).
  • USB Cable for Frame-Mounted Fairing vehicles (Part No. 76000374A).
Radio configuration using DIGITAL TECHNICIAN II (Part Number:HD-48650) diagnostic tool is:
  • Required before audio system OPERATION. System will beep every 3 seconds until configuration is completed.
  • Only available through authorized Harley-Davidson dealers.
WARNING
Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)
NOTE
This instruction sheet references service manual information. A service manual for this year/model motorcycle is required for this installation. One is available from a Harley-Davidson dealer.

REMOVAL
See service manual for specific instructions on this generalized procedure.
WARNING
To prevent accidental vehicle start-up, which could cause death or serious injury, remove main fuse before proceeding. (00251b)
1. Remove main fuse.
2. Remove outer fairing.
3. Fork-Mounted Faring: Remove fairing vent and instrument cluster.
4. Remove upper support bracket.
4.1. Fork-Mounted Faring: See Figure 1. Remove screws (1, 2, 3, 6).

7. Pull radio up and forward to remove.
INSTALLATION
1. See Figure 9. Install radio (1).
a. Position radio on fairing support brackets and push toward opening in inner fairing.
2. See Figure 3. Install four screws (1).
Torque: 6.8–9.5 N·m (60–84 in-lbs) Radio mounting screw
3. Fork-Mounted Fairing: Install instrument cluster.
4. Fork-Mounted Fairing: See Figure 1. Install upper support bracket.
a. Install screws (2). Tighten.
Torque: 1.1–2.2 N·m (10–19 in-lbs)
b. Install screws (1). Tighten.
Torque: 5.4–6.8 N·m (48–60 in-lbs)
c. Install screws (3). Tighten.
Torque: 2.8–4 N·m (25–35 in-lbs)
d. Install screw (6). Tighten.
Torque: 2.8–4 N·m (25–35 in-lbs)
5. Frame-Mounted Fairing: See Figure 2. Install upper support bracket.
a. Install screw (1). Tighten.
Torque: 2.8–4 N·m (25–35 in-lbs)
6. See Figure 4 or Figure 6. Install GPS antenna.
a. Fork-Mounted Fairing: Clean top of support bracket with isopropyl alcohol. Allow to dry completely.
b. Frame-Mounted Fairing: Clean top of right side speaker enclosure with isopropyl alcohol. Allow to dry completely.
c. Remove adhesive backing from antenna.
d. Route wire lead as shown, press and hold antenna (2) for 60 seconds.
NOTE
After installing antenna, avoid contact or movement of the antenna for 20 minutes.
7. Secure antenna lead to harness with cable strap (1).
8. Fork-Mounted models with a Boom!™ Box 4.3 (2014 and later) or 6.5GT (2014-2018) radio. Install USB cable (69200031A).
a. See Figure 5. Disconnect media cable connector from radio.
b. Remove cable from retaining feature (3).
c. Remove foam insert.
d. Push cable grommet (2) into media compartment to remove.
e. Route cable through mounting hole from inside compartment.
NOTE
Apply small amount of window cleaner to aid installation.
f. Pull grommet into hole until seated. Secure cable to retaining feature (3).
g. Install foam insert.
h. Connect media cable connector to radio.
9. Frame-Mounted models with a Boom!™ Box 4.3 (2014 and later) or 6.5GT (2014-2018) radio. Install USB cable (76000374A).
a. See Figure 7. Disconnect connector (1) from radio.
b. Remove and discard anchored cable strap (2) from upper speaker enclosure.
c. Remove right storage compartment. Refer to Storage Compartment - Frame Mounted.
d. Remove and discard anchored cable strap (2) from media storage compartment.
e. Compress grommet (3) and push into storage compartment.
f. Route media cable from inside through right storage compartment.
g. Adjust length of cable and install grommet (3) into hole until seated.
h. Install new anchored cable strap (2) to media storage compartment.
i. Install storage compartment. Refer to Storage Compartment - Frame Mounted.
j. Route media cable to radio.
k. Install new anchored cable strap (2) to upper speaker enclosure.
10. See Figure 3. Connect connectors (2-5).

1. Remove outer fairing. See service manual.
2. Release harness:
a. Left side: Release accessory power connector harness from features on storage compartment.
b. Right side: Release media cable retainer from upper speaker enclosure. Disconnect from radio.
3. See Figure 8. Remove fairing support bracket:
a. Loosen two screws (4) securing fairing support bracket to engine guard.
b. Remove screw (3) and washer securing fairing support bracket to inner fairing.
4. Remove air deflector upper screw (5).
5. Remove four screws (1). Remove media storage compartment.
6. See Figure 8. Route harness into position as storage compartment is moved into place.
7. Position storage compartment. Start four screws (1).
8. Install air deflector with air deflector upper screw (5). Tighten.
Torque: 0.9–1.7 N·m (8–15 in-lbs)
9. Tighten screws (1).
Torque: 5.4–6.8 N·m (48–60 in-lbs)
10. Secure and connect harness.
11. Install fairing support bracket:
a. Secure fairing support bracket to inner fairing with screw (3) and washer. Tighten.
Torque: 5.4–6.8 N·m (48–60 in-lbs)
b. Tighten fairing support bracket screws (4).
Torque: 4.5–5.7 N·m (40–50 in-lbs)
12. Install outer fairing.

SWITCH CAP
1.
NOTE
See the service manual of the year and model vehicle that the service is being performed on for the following steps.
Remove front right hand control cover.
2. Remove right turn signal and info switch cap.
3. See Figure 9. Install new switch cap (2).
4. Install front right hand control cover.
COMPLETE
NOTE
To prevent possible damage to the audio system, verify that the ignition is OFF before installing the main fuse.
1. Fork-Mounted Faring: Install fairing vent.
2. Install outer fairing.
3. Install main fuse.
4. Update radio software. See Harley-Davidson.com
a. Follow instructions on website.

NOTE
Digital Technician II (DT II) will configure the radio and amplifiers all at the same time.
Have Harley-Davidson dealer configure the radio using DT II.

a. Turn radio ON.
b. Make sure that all speakers are working properly.
c. Make sure front/rear fader function is operating correctly.
7. Verify all turn signals functions are working properly.
