Installation Requirements
WARNING
Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)
NOTE
This instruction sheet references service manual information. A service manual for the year and model motorcycle is required for this installation and is available from:
PREPARE
1. Remove main fuse.
REMOVE
1. Remove skid plate. See service manual.
2. See Figure 2. Remove front shifter linkage screw (7).
3. See Figure 2. Remove shifter lever pivot screw (5), washer (4) and nut (3).
4. See Figure 2. Remove shifter lever (1) and shifter linkage (6) from frame boss.
5. See Figure 2. Remove Screw (2) from shifter linkage (6) from shifter lever (1).

INSTALL
1. See Figure 3. Assemble quick shifter sensor (1) to shifter lever (3) with screw (2). Tighten.
Torque: 10.5–12 N·m (93–106 in-lbs)

NOTE
If transmission shift shaft lever is off ONE SPLINE in either direction from the six o'clock position, it is in the incorrect location.
See Figure 4. Make sure transmission shift shaft lever is oriented at the six o'clock position (1).
a. Deviation from this position, either forward or backward, may adversely affect operation of the quick shifter.
b. If the shift shaft lever is not at the six o'clock position, see service manual to correctly orientate the transmission shift shaft lever.

NOTE
Preferred orientation of quick shifter sensor is shown. Make sure wire harness is routed properly to avoid excessive loops.
See Figure 6. Assemble shifter lever (1) and quick shifter (6) to frame boss with screw (3), washer (4) and nut (5). Tighten.
Torque: 24.5–30 N·m (18–22 ft-lbs)
4. Install screw (7) to front of quick shifter (6) to transmission shift arm (2). Tighten.
Torque: 10.5–12 N·m (93–106 in-lbs)
5. Connect quick shifter sensor to engine harness.
6. Vehicles with side stand switch harness.
a. Remove cable strap from side stand switch harness.
b. See Figure 7. Connect quick shifter harness and side stand harness with cable strap (3) loosely.
c. Connect quick shifter harness and side stand frame mount with cable strap (2) loosely.
d. Ensure routing of quick shifter harness clears skid plate, side stand and oil filter.
e. Ensure up/down shifts are completing the full range of motion and not pulling on harness.
NOTE
Check for contact between shifter lever and quick shifter sensor body.
f. Tighten both cable straps (2,3).
7. Vehicles without side stand switch harness.
a. See Figure 7. Connect quick shifter harness side stand bracket with cable strap (3) loosely.
b. Connect quick shifter harness and side stand frame mount with cable strap (2) loosely.
c. Ensure routing of quick shifter harness clears skid plate, side stand and oil filter.
d. Ensure up/down shifts are completing the full range of motion and not pulling on harness.
NOTE
Check for contact between shifter lever and quick shifter sensor body.
e. Tighten both cable straps (2,3).
8. Install skid plate. See service manual.
