Only when a Bluetooth® connection has been established using the H-D Audio app, the normal process is the audio will fade-out and then fade-in.

Installation Requirements
WARNING
Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)
NOTE
This instruction sheet references service manual information. A service manual for the year and model motorcycle is required for this installation and is available from:
PREPARE
1. Remove seat. See service manual.
2. Remove right and left side covers. See service manual.
3. Remove main fuse. See service manual.
4. Remove battery strap. See service manual.
5. Disconnect battery. See service manual.
6. Remove windshield. See service manual.
7. Remove outer fairing. See service manual.
a. Disconnect headlamp connector.
REMOVE
1. See Figure 3. Remove and discard Original Equipment (OE) upper air deflector (1).
a. Release two outer panel clips (2).
b. Pull on upper air deflector (1) straight back to release inner clips.
2. Inspect OE panel clips (2).
a. If damaged or missing, replace with clips in kit.
b. Make sure clips are properly installed and seated.

NOTE
Be careful not to scratch the paint. Mask area off for extra protection.
See Figure 4. Remove and discard two outer fairing clip nuts (1).
a. See Figure 5. Lift gasket (5).
b. Lift on front of clip nut (3) using a pick (2).
3.3. Use finger (4) and pull on backside of clip nut (3).

INSTALL
1. See Figure 6. Disconnect 16-way fairing harness connector [100A] (2) on fairing mounting bracket.
a. Remove plug from cavity 11.

4. See Figure 8. Install audio sub-assembly to panel clips using the four mounting tabs (1).

5. See Figure 9. Align bracket (2) with mounting holes on inner lower fairing.
6. Install screws (1). Tighten.
Torque: 5.4–6.8 N·m (48–60 in-lbs)
7. See Figure 9. Connect amplifier connector [359B] (3) to connector [359A] (6).
a. See Figure 1. Use retainers (6) and cable straps (7) to secure loose wires as needed.
b. Install anchor of [359A/B] into inner lower fairing (5).

Vehicle components may have to removed and set aside to gain access to 20-way backbone connector [327A]. See service manual.

9. Remove seal pin from cavity 9 (2) of connector [327A].
10. See Figure 11. Install red terminal pin (3) of fused harness into cavity 9 (2) of connector [327A]. See Figure 10.
NOTE
Make sure fuse IS NOT in the fuse holder before making connection.

COMPLETE
1. Install outer fairing.
a. See Figure 7. Connect connector [38B] to headlamp.
b. Make sure that audio sub-assembly and outer fairing are properly installed to lower inner fairing.
c. Make sure components fit and that no surfaces are misaligned.
d. Make sure no wires are pinched.
e. See Figure 12. Install four inner fairing (1) screws (2). Do not completely tighten at this time.
f. See Figure 13. Install air deflectors (1, 2) and screws(3). Do not completely tighten at this time.
g. See Figure 14. Position windshield (1) on windshield seal (3).
h. Install two lower windshield screws (5). Do not completely tighten at this time.
i. See Figure 12. Tighten inner fairing screws (2).
Torque: 2.8–3.4 N·m (25–30 in-lbs)
j. See Figure 13. Tighten air deflector screws (3).
Torque: 2.8–3.4 N·m (25–30 in-lbs)
k. See Figure 14. Install upper four windshield screws (5).
l. See Figure 14. Tighten all six screws (5).
Torque: 0.6–0.8 N·m (5–7 in-lbs)

2. Connect battery. See service manual.
a. See Figure 11. Connect ring terminal (1) and positive battery cable to battery.
b. See Figure 11. Install fuse into fuse holder (2).
c. See Figure 10. Make sure to place fuse holder (4) down into the battery box area and out of the way of moving components. Secure with cable strap.
3. Install battery strap. See service manual.
4. Install main fuse. See service manual.
5. Install right and left side covers. See service manual.
6. Install seat. See service manual.
a. After installing seat, pull up on seat to verify that it is secure.
7. Verify headlamp operation.
8. Use Harley-Davidson Audio App to configure system: 7 band equalizer, update amplifier firmware, enable or disable automatic volume control.
a. Use appropriate App search engine to find app.
9. Check for firmware updates. Download as required.
HARLEY DAVIDSON AUDIO APP PIN RESET
1. With vehicle off, disable Bluetooth on any nearby devices that were connected to the audio system.
2. Perform five key cycles with at least ten seconds between each key cycle.
3. Enable Bluetooth on device to be connected to the audio system.
4. In H-D Audio mobile app reconnect to the system.
5. Create new PIN or disable PIN feature.
FIRMWARE UPDATE
1. See Figure 16. Red circle indicates that there is an available firmware update (1).
2. Short description of update (2).
a. Download and update to update this version.
b. Press previous version (3) if that version is desired.
3. Select a version update (3) and proceed with update (4).
a. See Figure 15. Pressing Main Menu (1) icon will provide more information about the update.
4. Screen shows status of update (5) being applied to amplifier.
