WARNING
See the Accessories and Cargo section in your owner's manual. Improper cargo loading or accessory installation can cause component failure and adversely affect stability, handling and performance, which could result in death or serious injury. (00021b)
NOTE
  • Do not exceed 12 lbs (5.4 kg) total weight contents and attachments per bag.
  • Periodically recheck load.
WARNING
Do not exceed the motorcycle's Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR). Exceeding these weight ratings can lead to component failure and adversely affect stability, handling and performance, which could result in death or serious injury. (00016f)

MAINTENANCE
Docking Point Screws
NOTICE
Failure to tighten hardware to the specified torque could result in damage to the installed accessory. (00508b)
1. After 500 miles of on the road use with saddlebags installed, it is necessary to check the torque on docking point mounting screws. Check that the proper torque is maintained and tighten screws if necessary.
a. Docking point screws.
Torque: 20–26 N·m (15–19 ft-lbs)
2. See Figure 4. There are clearances between docking points (8) and fastener diameters (5,7 ) to account for manufacturing tolerances. If saddlebag does not automatically latch when installed, adjust positions of docking points (8) forward or rearward. Position docking points so that middle docking point fully seats on saddlebag before front and rear docking points bottom out on bag bracket.
a. Loosen docking point screws and adjust position of docking points.
b. Tighten docking point screws.
Torque: 20–26 N·m (15–19 ft-lbs)
