Installation Requirements
WARNING
Do not install these seat kits on motorcycles that are not equipped with an appropriate grab strap and passenger footpegs. If footpegs and grab strap are not installed, passenger could fall from moving motorcycle or grab onto operator, causing loss of control and death or serious injury. (00410b)
WARNING
Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)

REMOVE
NOTE
When performing the following installation procedures, avoid scratching painted surfaces (fender, tank, etc.) with tools or metal seat tabs.
1. Lift rider seat to gain access to pillion front mount location.
2. See Figure 3. Remove rear fender plug (1).
INSTALL
1. See Figure 2. Install rear mount fender nuts (1) and washers (2).
a. Cable strap (3) used to aid installation of nut and washer through bottom of fender.
b. With rib on fender nut (1) seated into notch in fender hole, slide washer (2) into place.
c. Remove cable strap (3).
2. See Figure 4. Mark and apply protective tape (2).
a. Mark bottom of pillion isolators (1) with chalk.
b. Set pillion in place and press down to transfer marks to fender.
c. Place protective tape (2) on rear fender over marks.
3. Figure 3 and Figure 5. Install pillion.
a. Engage front mount tab (3).
b. Secure with screws (1). Tighten.
Torque: 2.3–4.6 N·m (20–41 in-lbs)
4. Install seat. After installing seat, pull up on seat to verify that it is secure. See service manual.
