GENERAL
Security anchor can be installed on concrete ground or mounted on a concrete wall. Do not mount to hollow soft, porous concrete building block or house brick as these are not strong enough.
Models
For model fitment information, see the Parts and Accessories (P&A) Retail Catalog or the Parts and Accessories section of www.harley-davidson.com.
Verify that the most current version of the instruction sheet is used. It is available at: h-d.com/isheets
Contact Harley-Davidson Customer Support Center at 1-800-258-2464 (U.S. only) or 1-414-343-4056.
Installation Requirements
Kit can be installed on truck bed/trailer with separate purchase of Security Anchor Installation Kit (12600354).
This kit is not intended to be used as a tie-down. Anchor is only intended to serve as a loop point for a lock.
INSTALL
NOTE
Choose an area free of any cracks or chips in concrete. Test desired area of installation. With a hammer, lightly tap surface, listen for a solid sound. If hollow sound is heard, move and test a different area for installation.
1. See Figure 5. Remove cover (4) by placing a flat head screw driver under slot slowly (on both sides) until it pops out.
2. Outline baseplate (3) and center point of one hole with felt marker on desired location.
3. See Figure 2. Measure and mark drill bit (1) 77 mm (3 in).
4. See Figure 2. Drill hole straight and vertical into concrete to depth marked on drill bit.
NOTE
Vacuum all dust and debris in and around holes drilled.
5. See Figure 2. Install expanding shield nuts (5) into concrete.
a. Tap lightly until flush with top of concrete.
6. See Figure 3. Place baseplate (2) over outlined mark made earlier.
7. See Figure 3. Install hex head bolt (1). Turn until it catches expanding shield nut (3).
8. See Figure 3. Align baseplate (2) and mark center point for next hole with a felt marker.
9. See Figure 3. Remove hex head bolt (1) and baseplate (2).
10. Repeat steps (4-9 ) until all four holes have been drilled.
11. See Figure 3. Align baseplate (1) and place all four hex head bolts (1).
12. Tighten bolts with 6 mm Allen wrench evenly in a clockwise rotation. Do not over tighten.
NOTE
This is the anti-theft part that will stop someone from undoing base plate from concrete floor. For extra security, add epoxy to cover area.
13. See Figure 4. Install security ball bearing (1) into top of hex head bolt cavity.
a. With hammer, tap expanding shield nuts (3) as far as it will go.
14. Repeat step (13) for remaining three bolts.
15. See Figure 5. Install cover (2) over U-bolt on baseplate (3).
16. See Figure 5. Install bolts (1). Tighten until snug.
17. See Figure 5. Install cover (4) and plugs into open holes.
a. Push plugs in with even thumb pressure.
