Installation Requirements
WARNING
Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)
NOTE
This instruction sheet references service manual information. A service manual for the year and model motorcycle is required for this installation and is available from:
PREPARE
1. Remove main fuse. See service manual.
2. Remove seat. See service manual.
3. Remove rear fender. See service manual.
REMOVE
1. Remove rear turn signal lamp assemblies from fender supports. See service manual.
a. Save turn signal lamp housings for later use.
b. Discard turn signal standoffs.
2. Remove tail lamp assembly.
a. See Figure 2. Remove screws (1).
b. Separate tail lamp lens (2) from base assembly.
c. See Figure 3. Disconnect tail lamp (1) connector.
d. Disconnect connectors (2, 3, 4).
e. See Figure 4. Remove screw (1) and base assembly (2).
f. Discard base assembly (2) with circuit board.

INSTALL
1. Install turn signals.
b. Install screws (1). Tighten.
Torque: 14–17 N·m (10–13 ft-lbs) Turn signal screw
c. Route cable (3) as shown through bracket opening.
d. Install new cable straps (2).
2. See Figure 6. Route turn signal wires through gasket (1).
3. Route turn signal wires through rear fender.
4. Install turn signal housing (2) and gasket (1) to rear fender.
a. Make sure not to pinch any turn signal wires.
5. Install screw (5). Tighten.
Torque: 4.5–5.5 N·m (40–49 in-lbs) Turn signal housing screw
6. Refer to Table 3. Splice power connector wires [94] to tail lamp wires [93]. See Electrical Diagnostic Manual (EDM).
7. See Figure 6. Install tail lamp.
a. Install tail lamp (3) to turn signal housing (2).
b. Install screws (4). Tighten.
Torque: 2.3–2.7 N·m (20–24 in-lbs) Tail lamp screw
8. Remove connectors from turn signal wires. See EDM.
a. Label wires accordingly to ease assembly.
9. See Figure 1. Add extra wire length from harness extension kit (7).
a. Measure accordingly.
b. Cut wires to length.
c. Splice wires according to EDM.
10. See Figure 7. Route turn signal wires through conduit (2).
a. To avoid confusion, feed one set of wires at a time.
b. Use fish tape to assist routing of wires.
11. Install left and right turn signal connectors. See EDM.
12. See Figure 8. Install both fender support covers (2) to fender supports (1).
