Installation Requirements
WARNINGRider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)
NOTE
This instruction sheet references service manual information. A service manual for the year and model motorcycle is required for this installation and is available from:

REMOVE
| 1. | See Figure 2. Remove flange locking nuts (3) and shoulder screws (4) from underside of footboard (1, 2). Retain locking nuts. | |
| 2. | Remove footboard (1, 2) from support brackets (5, 9, 10). | |
| 3. | Remove socket head screw (7), lockwasher (6) and front supports (5) from both sides. Clean the threads and retain socket head screws. |

INSTALL

| 2. | See Figure 1. Install new support brackets (5, 6) from kit. | |
| 3. | See Figure 2. Install lockwasher (6) and socket head screw (7). Tighten. Torque: 49–57 N·m (36–42 ft-lbs) Footboard support bracket screw | |
| 4. | See Figure 2. Install left footboard (1) onto Original Equipment (OE) forward brackets (5), shoulder screws (4) and OE flange nuts (3) removed earlier. Tighten. Torque: 6.8–9 N·m (60–80 in-lbs) Footboard mounting screws | |
| 5. | See Figure 2. Install right footboard (2) onto OE forward brackets (5), shoulder screws (4) and OE flange nuts (3) removed earlier. Tighten. Torque: 6.8–9 N·m (60–80 in-lbs) Footboard mounting screws |
WEAR PEG REPLACEMENT
| 1. | See Figure 3. Remove existing wear peg (2) from footboard. | |
| 2. | Apply 2 or 3 drops of threadlocker to threads of new wear peg (2) and install.LOCTITE 243 MEDIUM STRENGTH THREADLOCKER AND SEALANT (BLUE) (99642-97) | |
| 3. | Tighten wear peg (2). Torque: 3.4–4.8 N·m (30–42 in-lbs) Wear peg |
