Installation Requirements
NOTE
This instruction sheet references owner's manual information. An owner's manual for the year and model motorcycle is required for this installation and is available from:
The following items are required to enable Skyline OS Navigation:
  • Purchase Skyline OS Embedded Navigation through dealer or through Harley-Davidson website http://www.h-d.com/nav.
  • Computer, tablet or mobile device.
  • 5Ghz Wi-Fi. Vehicle requires a clear signal from a router or hotspot.
PROCESS
NOTE
It is recommended the vehicle is updated to the latest software before activating navigation.
1. There are two ways to process a purchase order, one for Customer and the other for a Dealership.
2. Perform PREPARE procedure.
a. Customer and dealership follow this procedure.
3. Perform CUSTOMER or DEALERSHIP procedure.
4. Perform COMPLETE procedure.

PREPARE
NOTE
5Ghz Wi-Fi is required for Navigation software update.
1. Power ON vehicle in Accessory mode. See owner's manual.
2. Verify that the date and time are correct in the Infotainment Control Unit (IFCU).
a. Navigate: Settings > System > Date and Time.
3. See Figure 1. Select: Navigation icon (1).

4. See Figure 2. Confirm: If Navigation is not enabled on vehicle, a pop up window with a QR code (1) will appear.

CUSTOMER PURCHASE PROCESS
NOTE
Two emails will be sent after the purchase has been made.
1. Purchase Skyline OS Embedded Navigation: Use mobile device to scan QR code or use computer and visit http://www.h-d.com/nav.
a. After purchasing, 5-10 minutes will be required to confirm software update process and enable navigation for the VIN.
b. Confirm: Email for Product purchase has been received.
c. Confirm: Email for Embedded Navigation activation has been received.
DEALERSHIP PURCHASE PROCESS
No emails will be sent for eCommerce order confirmation.
1. Make sure vehicle is OFF.
2. Order VIN restricted parts via TALON or HDNET.
a. See HDNET or TALON For ordering instructions if needed Parts & Accessories Marketing Resources (h-dnet.com).
3. Once the order is placed in HDNET or TALON the order will process in approximately 3 minutes.
a. TALON: When the order is sent and Order Acknowledgement report is viewed/printed, it will display the HDMC Order Number when complete.
b. HDNET: The order acknowledgement gets updated with the HDMC Order Number when complete, in the HDNET the order status changes to Shipped.
COMPLETE
1. Power OFF vehicle. See owner's manual.
2. Put vehicle in Accessory mode. See owner's manual.
3. Connect vehicle to a 5Ghz Wi-Fi network.
a. See Figure 2. Wi-Fi icon (2) will be displayed on IFCU once Wi-Fi connection is established.
4. Power OFF vehicle. See owner's manual.
a. Vehicle must remain OFF and undisturbed for two minutes to power down all control modules.
5. Put vehicle in Accessory mode. See owner's manual.
6. See Figure 3.IFCU should automatically reconnect to Wi-Fi, a Navigation enabled pop-up window will be displayed.
a. Select: OK (2). This will acknowledge and confirm activation of navigation.

TROUBLESHOOTING
    Never Received Email:
  • Contact Harley-Davidson Customer Support Center at 1-800-258-2464 (U.S. only) or 1-414-343-4056.
  • Navigation Enabled Pop-Up Did Not Display:
  • Validate vehicle Date and Time: While connected to 5G Wi-Fi, Navigate to Settings > System > Date and Time. Manually change vehicle's date and time to Jan 1, 2023 and exit back to the main menu. Once that is done, go back into Date and Time and then set to Automatic and verify the time and date are accurate. Once confirmed to be accurate, go back to Navigation and verify it has been successfully enabled.
  • Confirm 5Ghz Wi-Fi connection.
  • Repeat Step 9.
  • After successful activation set Date and Time back to Auto.
  • Contact Harley-Davidson Customer Support Center at 1-800-258-2464 (U.S. only) or 1-414-343-4056.
  • Don't Have Access to 5Ghz Wi-Fi service.
  • Take vehicle to Harley-Davidson dealership or a location with 5GHz Wi-Fi service.
