Additional Parts Required
Separate purchase of LOCTITE® 262 Threadlocker and Sealant (Red) (94759-99) is required for proper installation of this kit. LOCTITE can be purchased from any Harley-Davidson Dealer.

Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. This instruction sheet references service manual information. A service manual for your model motorcycle is required for this installation and is available from a Harley-Davidson Dealer.

REMOVAL
WARNING
To prevent accidental vehicle start-up, which could cause death or serious injury, disconnect negative (-) battery cable before proceeding. (00048a)
WARNING
To prevent accidental vehicle start-up, which could cause death or serious injury, remove main fuse before proceeding. (00251b)
  1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable or remove the main fuse, following the instructions in the service manual.
  2. Remove rear wheel following the instructions in the service manual.
  3. See Figure 1. Remove the five sprocket mounting screws.
INSTALLATION
1. Apply a small amount of LOCTITE 262 Threadlocker and Sealant to each screw before installing.
2. Position the sprocket cover over the sprocket. Install the sprocket cover screw removed earlier.
NOTE
If replacing the original equipment sprocket mounting screws with Chrome Hardware Kit (94708-98), refer to that kit for the correct LOCTITE Threadlocker and Sealant and torque values.
3. Tighten screws to the torque value in the service manual.
4. Install the rear wheel following the instructions in the service manual.
5. Connect the battery negative (-) cable or install the main fuse following the instructions in the service manual.
