Additional Parts Required
Prior or concurrent installation of an iPod Interface Module Kit (Part No. 76476-10) is required. This item is available separately from a Harley-Davidson dealer.

Rider and passenger safety depend upon the correct installation of this kit. Use the appropriate service manual procedures. If the procedure is not within your capabilities or you do not have the correct tools, have a Harley-Davidson dealer perform the installation. Improper installation of this kit could result in death or serious injury. (00333b)

This instruction sheet refers to service manual information. A service manual for this year/model motorcycle is required for this installation and is available from a Harley-Davidson dealer.

INSTALLATION
iPod Mount Installation
1. If not already done, complete the installation of the iPod Interface Module Kit per the instructions in that kit, with the following exceptions:
a. Connect the iPod cable from this kit to the round connector on the iPod module on top of the AM/FM radio case.
b. The iPod cable included in the iPod Interface Module Kit will be connected to the end of the cable from this kit.
2. Remove the right-side saddlebag from the vehicle per service manual instructions.
3. See Figure 1 , (1). Measure about 228 mm (9 in) from the rear of the saddlebag, in line with the top of the bag as shown. Drill a 16 mm (0.62 in) diameter hole in that location.

4. Remove four screws retaining the original equipment (OE) saddlebag lid tether. Install the iPod tether (2) in the orientation shown.
5. See Figure 2. Fasten the iPod tether (1) to the saddlebag side wall with the dog point screws removed earlier, and alternately tighten to 2.3–2.8 N·m (20–25 in-lbs). Fasten the iPod tether to the saddlebag lid with the hi-lo screws removed earlier, and alternately tighten to 2–2.3 N·m (18–20 in-lbs).
6. Install the right-side saddlebag to the vehicle per service manual instructions.
7. Route the iPod cable (2, installed to the iPod module earlier) under the radio and rearward, inside the wire caddy alongside other harnesses down the vehicle backbone.
NOTE
  • The connection between the two iPod cables should be positioned outside the saddlebag, near the upper shock mount.
  • Do not fasten the iPod cables too tightly with cable straps, as they are easily damaged.
8. Fasten the iPod cables with cable straps (not supplied). Route the cable through the hole drilled in the saddlebag wall.
9. Install the grommet (3) around the cable, and insert into the hole.
10. Route the cable around the inside rear of the saddlebag as shown, through the two elastic knit loops in the tether, and through the opening in the bottom of the iPod pocket. Fasten the cable to the saddlebag walls as necessary with wire clips (4).
