Additional Parts Required
Separate purchase of LOCTITE® 271 Threadlocker and Sealant - Red is required for proper installation of this kit. LOCTITE can be purchased from any Harley-Davidson Dealer.

INSTALLATION
1. Put motorcycle in NEUTRAL.
2. See Figure 1. Remove left front shift linkage screw securing front of shift linkage to shift lever. Save screw for installation.
NOTE
When removing footpeg mounting screws, use a 10-inch or longer extension to avoid damaging cosmetic surfaces.
3. Remove screw securing footpeg mount. Hold shift lever and slide footpeg out through shift lever and remove. Save screw for installation and discard shift lever.
WARNING
Footrests must fold up and toward rear of motorcycle if struck. Failure to set footrests to fold up and back could result in death or serious injury. (00366a)
4. See Figure 2. Slide left footpeg mount through opening in the shift lever and into the frame. Make sure footpeg folds upward and rearward.
5. Apply a few drops of Loctite 271 onto threads of footpeg mounting screw. Install footpeg mount to the frame. Tighten screw to 14 N·m (10 ft-lbs).
6. Apply a few drops of Loctite 271 to threads of linkage screw (removed earlier). Align linkage rod with shift lever and install screw. Tighten screw to 12 N·m (9 ft-lbs).
7. Verify that the linkage is not binding or touching any other components.
