1. | Obtain the two Chrome Fittings from kit and note the difference. NOTE There is a considerable difference between the fittings and each must be identified and installed to the correct location. The fitting to be installed to the crankcase end is drilled out allowing the vent tubing to pass all the way through. This fitting will require the rubber seal with nut (installed to vent line) to seal properly. The fitting to be installed to the oil spout is designed with an inner shoulder that tubing butts up against during installation. This fitting will require the brass ferrule with nut (installed to vent line) to seal properly. | |||||||||||||||
2. | Identify and obtain the crankcase end fitting. This fitting is drilled out (no shoulder inside). |

3. | See Figure 2. Carefully thread (clockwise) fitting (1) into threaded opening in crankcase. Be extremely careful NOT to cross thread fitting. If fitting becomes hard to thread or metal filings begin falling from fitting, STOP threading and back the fitting out. Carefully inspect the threaded opening and NPT side of fitting, then install again, making sure fitting is threading correctly. Tighten fitting to 13.6–19 N·m (10–14 ft-lbs). |

4. | Identify and obtain the oil spout fitting. This fitting is designed with an inner shoulder. | |||||||||||||||

6. | See Figure 4. Obtain chrome vent line (1), chrome nuts (4) and (7), rubber seal (3) and brass ferrule (6) from kit. With vent line oriented as shown (with "S" bend toward the crankcase end), install each nut onto the line with threaded portion of nut facing toward the end. | |||||||||||||||
7. | Install the rubber seal onto the vent line in position for installation to the crankcase fitting (2). Install the brass ferrule onto vent line in position for installation to the oil spout fitting (5). NOTE You must install the vent line to the crankcase end first. The crankcase fitting allows the tube to pass through it which provides the clearance necessary for installing the line to the oil spout fitting without bending the tube. | |||||||||||||||
8. | See Figure 4. Install the vent line into the crankcase fitting and slide it in far enough to be able to align the opposite end of the vent line with the oil spout fitting. You may need to slide the rubber seal up the vent line to allow enough movement. | |||||||||||||||
9. | Install (slide) the vent line into the oil spout fitting and push the line (with ferrule) into the fitting as far as possible (until the end of the vent line is completely butted against inner shoulder of fitting). | |||||||||||||||
10. | While holding the line in position, install the chrome nut onto the oil spout fitting and finger tighten. | |||||||||||||||
11. | At the crankcase end, slide the rubber seal down along vent line and position until it is snug inside fitting. | |||||||||||||||
12. | Install the chrome nut onto the crankcase end fitting and finger tighten. | |||||||||||||||
13. | See Figure 5. Examine length of vent line(1) to make sure adequate clearance exists and line runs parallel with transmission cover. If necessary, loosen chrome nuts and adjust. | |||||||||||||||
14. | Securely tighten each of the chrome nuts, but do NOT over tighten. Run engine and check for leaks. |
