3. | Deactivate electrical system. See Electrical → POWER DISCONNECT. | |
4. | Detach right rider footrest bracket from frame. See Chassis → RIDER FOOTRESTS. | |
5. | Remove primary cover. See Electric Vehicle Powertrain (EVPT) → PRIMARY COVER. |
1. | See Figure 1. Loosen screw (2) on tensioner (1). | |
2. | Clean behind tensioner. a. Move tensioner away from idler bracket. Do not remove. b. Clean between tensioner and idler bracket. | |
3. | Rotate tensioner (1) to adjust belt tension. a. Turn counterclockwise to increase belt tension (4). b. Turn clockwise to decrease belt tension (5). | |
4. | Tighten screw (2). a. Insert hex tool into hex slot (3). Place tension on hex tool. Torque: 54–60 N·m (40–44 ft-lbs) Tensioner screw | |
5. | Check belt deflection as adjustment is made. See Measure Drive Belt Deflection in this section. |
