Replace punctured or damaged tires. In some cases, small punctures in the tread area may be repaired from within the removed tire by a LiveWire dealer. Speed should NOT exceed 80 km/h (50 mph) for the first 24 hours after repair, and the repaired tire should NEVER be used over 129 km/h (80 mph). Failure to follow this warning could lead to tire failure and result in death or serious injury. (12124b)
See Figure 1. Spin the wheel and measure tire lateral runout from a fixed point to a smooth area on the tire sidewall.
Compare reading to specifications. Refer to Table 1.
If tire runout exceeds specification, remove tire and check wheel lateral runout. See Chassis → WHEEL RUNOUT. If wheel is within specification, replace tire.
Check radial tire runout.
Mount the wheel and tire in a wheel stand.
See Figure 2. Spin the wheel and measure tire radial runout at the tread centerline.
Compare reading to specifications. Refer to Table 1.
If tire runout exceeds specification, remove tire and check wheel radial runout. See Chassis → WHEEL RUNOUT. If wheel is within specification, replace tire.
