DOT 4 brake fluid will damage painted and body panel surfaces it comes in contact with. Always use caution and protect surfaces from spills whenever brake work is performed. Failure to comply can result in cosmetic damage. (00239c)

NOTE

Procedure for draining brake fluid is the same for both the front and the rear brake systems.

1.	Remove reservoir cap or cover.
2.	See Unresolved graphic link. Drain brake fluid. a. Remove cap (1) from bleeder screw (2). b. Install end of a length of 7.9 mm (0.31 in) ID clear plastic tubing over bleeder screw. c. Place free end of tubing in a suitable container. d. Open bleeder screw one-half turn. e. Pump brake lever or pedal repeatedly to drain brake fluid. f. Close bleeder screw. Tighten. Torque: 12–16 N·m (106–142 in-lbs) Brake caliper bleeder screw
