Refer to Table 1. Regular maintenance must be performed at specified intervals to help keep your new Harley-Davidson motorcycle operating at peak performance and keep your new motorcycle limited warranty in force. Your Harley-Davidson dealer knows best how to service your motorcycle with factory approved methods and equipment assuring you of thorough and competent workmanship.
Some maintenance items should be done at least once per year as specified, even if the next mileage interval has not been reached. In severe riding conditions, some maintenance items may need to be performed more frequently. Refer to the notes in Table 1.
NOTE
WARNING
Perform the service and maintenance operations as indicated in the regular service interval table. Lack of regular maintenance at the recommended intervals can affect the safe operation of your motorcycle, which could result in death or serious injury. (00010a)
WARNING
If you operate your motorcycle under adverse conditions (severe cold, extreme heat, very dusty environment, very bad roads, through standing water, etc.), you should perform the regular maintenance intervals more frequently to ensure the safe operation of your motorcycle. Failure to maintain your motorcycle could result in death or serious injury. (00094a)
