DIGITAL TOURING SUSPENSION AIR PUMP

Recommended Pressure
The recommended pressures are starting pressures for the total weight of rider, passenger and luggage. Vary the recommended pressure to suit road conditions, riding style and comfort. Using pressures outside the recommended loading range results in a reduction of available suspension travel and reduced rider comfort and can damage the shock absorbers.

Adjustment
NOTE
See Figure 1. Use a no-loss air pump such as the DIGITAL TOURING SUSPENSION AIR PUMP (Part Number:54000033) available from a Harley-Davidson dealer. This pump can also be used as a tire air pressure gauge.
1. Press the power button (3) to turn on the display.
2. To switch the display between psi and kPa units, hold the power button five seconds.
3. Open the left saddlebag to access the shock air valve.
4. Remove the cap from the air valve.
5. See Figure 2. Install the pump air valve adapter on the air valve.
NOTE
  • Before releasing pressure, add 20.7–34.6 kPa (3–5 psi) to the existing pressure to prevent oil from exiting the air valve. Never exceed 345 kPa (50 psi).
  • For best results, press the pressure release button slowly and only partially.
WARNING
Use caution when bleeding air from the suspension. Moisture combined with lubricant may leak onto the rear wheel, tire and/or brake components and adversely affect traction, which could result in death or serious injury. (00084a)
NOTICE
Do not exceed maximum air pressure for suspension. Air components fill rapidly. Therefore, use low air line pressure. Failure to do so can result in possible damage to components. (00165b)
6. Adjust pressure.
a. Release pressure: Press the pressure release button on the pump.
b. Inflate pressure: See Figure 2. Pull out the handle. Rotate the handle to the T-position. Pump until the display indicates the recommended pressure. Refer to Table 1 or Table 2.
7. Install the cap on the air valve. Close saddlebag.
