Be sure all secondary responders are notified that the vehicle is a high voltage vehicle. Only properly trained personnel should remove and transport the vehicle for service or storage.
Approach the motorcycle from the rear at a 45º angle. Never approach the motorcycle from the front. Stay out of the path of potential travel. Make sure the vehicle is disabled. See Emergency Response → High Voltage Disconnect.
NOTE
It may not possible to estimate the full extent of damage. The high voltage battery could reignite at anytime for up to 24 hours. If any smoke, sparks, flames, gurgling or bubbling sounds are noticed at anytime during handling, immediately call first responders.
Do not use metal components, such as chains and slings, to move, transport or secure vehicle. To avoid the chance of further damage, do not drag vehicle onto a flat bed. The vehicle should be lifted and transported in an upright position. Ensure that the vehicle is properly secured to hold it in the upright position during transportation.
