Do not exceed saddlebag weight capacity. Put equal weight in each bag. Too much weight in saddlebags can cause loss of control, which could result in death or serious injury. (00383a)
NOTE
Maximum saddlebag weight capacity is 4.54 kg (10 lb) in each saddlebag.
Opening
  1. Insert the key into the saddlebag lock. Rotate the key to the upright position to unlock the saddlebag.
  2. See Figure 2. Lift the outer edge of the saddlebag. Gently push the lid toward the motorcycle to unhook the two latches on the inner side of the saddlebag.
  3. Lift the inner side of the saddlebag lid to open.
Closing
  1. See Figure 2. Lower the saddlebag lid and engage the two latches on the inner side of the saddlebag.
  2. Gently press down on the outer side of the lid to close.
  3. Insert the key into the saddlebag lock. Rotate the key to the forward position to lock the saddlebag.
Removal
  1. Open the saddlebag.
  2. See Figure 3. Rotate the handle upward to raise the latch.
  3. See Figure 1. Push bag toward rear of the vehicle to disengage the saddlebag brackets from the docking points.
  4. Pull bag off the three docking points.
Installation
  1. Open the saddlebag.
  2. See Figure 1. Align the slots on the saddlebag mounting bracket with the two docking points on the rear fender. Insert the front bracket arm into the mounting point on the passenger footpeg bracket.
  3. Push the saddlebag forward to seat the brackets on to the three docking points.
  4. See Figure 4. Check that the saddlebag is secure on all mounting points and that the latch is engaged as shown.
NOTICE
Check that saddlebag frame(s) are fully seated and tightly secured with mounting hardware. Failure to do so could result in the saddlebags becoming detached and/or damaged. (00171b)
