NOTE
The instrument backlight activates after a slight delay. Changes to ambient lighting, such as going through a tunnel, may briefly change backlighting.
Tachometer
See Figure 1. The sweep needle of the tachometer (1) indicates the engine speed in revolutions per minute (rpm).
Speedometer
WARNING
Travel at speeds appropriate for road and conditions and never travel faster than posted speed limit. Excessive speed can cause loss of vehicle control, which could result in death or serious injury. (00008a)
See Figure 1. The speedometer (2) registers miles per hour (U.S. models) or kilometers per hour (international models). The display can be changed from mph to km/h. See Operation → Odometer Window Displays.
Gear Selection
See Figure 1. The currently selected gear number (3) is displayed when the motorcycle is moving. When the transmission is in neutral or the clutch lever is pulled in, the gear number is blank.
Odometer
See Figure 1. The odometer (5) is located in the speedometer face.
Keyed ignition: The ignition switch must be in the ACC or IGNITION position.
Keyless ignition: With an assigned fob within range, turn the OFF/RUN switch to RUN.
Trip Odometers A and B
See Figure 1. To check mileage, press and release the trip switch to display either the A or B trip odometer in the odometer window. An A or B (4) identifies the trip odometer.
To reset the trip odometers, select A or B. Press the trip switch and hold for approximately three seconds. The trip odometer resets to zero.
Clock
See Figure 1. Press and release the trip switch to display the clock (6) in the odometer window.
