| 3. | Clean and inspect drain plug and O-ring. | |

| 4. | Install drain plug with new O-ring. Tighten. Do not over-tighten. Torque: 19–28.5 N·m (14–21 ft-lbs) Transmission drain plug | |
| 5. | Fill the transmission with recommended Harley-Davidson lubricant. Refer to Maintenance and Lubrication → Check Transmission Lubricant → Recommended Transmission Lubricants. Volume: 0.83 L (28 fl oz) | |
| 6. | Check lubricant level. Add enough lubricant to bring the level between the add (A) and full (F) marks. See Maintenance and Lubrication → Check Transmission Lubricant → Transmission Lubricant Level. | |
