1. | See Maintenance and Lubrication → Checking Oil Level → Engine Oil Filler Cap. Unscrew and remove the filler cap/dipstick. NOTE Dispose of used oil in accordance with local regulations. | |
2. | See Figure 1. Remove engine oil drain plug with O-ring. Drain engine oil. | |
3. | Inspect O-ring for tears or damage. Replace if necessary. Clean magnetic drain plug. | |
4. | Install O-ring and drain plug and tighten to 19–28.5 N·m (14–21 ft-lbs). |
1. | Fill oil tank with no more than 1.89 L (2.0 qt) of oil. | |
NOTICE Do not overfill oil. Doing so can result in oil carryover to the air cleaner leading to equipment damage and/or equipment malfunction. (00190b) | ||
2. | Start engine and carefully check for oil leaks around drain plug and oil filter. | |
3. | See Maintenance and Lubrication → Checking Oil Level → Engine Oil Level. Bring engine to operating temperature. Add oil to bring level to full hot (1) on dipstick. |
