ABS Lamp
Flashing: See Figure 1. On vehicles with ABS, the ABS lamp (3) begins flashing when the vehicle is turned on. The flashing lamp indicates that the system is in self-diagnosis mode. Refer to Table 1.
The ABS lamp continues to flash until motorcycle speed exceeds 5 km/h (3 mph). ABS is not operational until the lamp turns off. See Safety First → Anti-Lock Brake System (ABS).
Solid: Continuous illumination of the lamp indicates an ABS malfunction. The ABS is disabled and the brakes are operating as if they were non-ABS brakes. See a Harley-Davidson dealer for service.
Battery
See Figure 1. The battery charging lamp (2) indicates either overcharging or undercharging of the battery. See Maintenance and Lubrication → Battery.
If the lamp remains illuminated, see a Harley-Davidson dealer.
Check Engine
See Figure 1. The check engine lamp (4) indicates whether the engine/engine management system is operating normally. The engine lamp color is amber.
When the ignition is ON, the check engine light will light and stay on until engine is started. During this time, the engine management system runs a series of self-diagnostics. Refer to Table 1.
Service is required if the lamp stays lit.
Cruise Control
See Figure 1. The cruise control icon (5) indicates the status of cruise control. Refer to Table 1.
Amber: The cruise indicator is amber when cruise control is on.
Green: The indicator is green when cruise speed is set and the motorcycle is at cruise speed.
Low Fuel
See Figure 1. The low fuel lamp (1) indicates when fuel falls below the reserve level in the fuel tank. The low fuel lamp color is amber. Refer to Specifications → Specifications → Capacities.
The low fuel lamp turns off when there is sufficient fuel, the ignition switch has been cycled (off-on), and the motorcycle is moving forward. If the low fuel lamp flashes at a steady rate, see a Harley-Davidson dealer.
Security Lamp
See Figure 1. The security lamp (6) indicates when the security system is armed. See SECURITY SYSTEM → Security System.
If the lamp remains lit continuously, see a Harley-Davidson dealer.
