Firmware Over The Air (FOTA) is a cellular, cloud-based method to update the vehicles software as needed using the vehicles telematics system. The Instrument Module (IM) displays a pop-up screen when software needs to be updated. The rider has the option to initiate or delay the update, unless a critical update is needed immediately.
NOTE
To Update the Vehicle Software
NOTE
The IM may go to sleep before completing large installations. Installation will continue while the IM is in sleep mode and will wake up once the process is complete.
1. The IM displays a pop-up when a software update is ready to be installed.
2. Rider can initiate or delay software update, unless a critical update is needed.
3. See Figure 1. Using the Left Hand Control Module (LHCM), select the navigate left (13) to initiate or select the navigate right (8) and press and hold for two seconds to delay downloading software.
4. When rider initiates update, a progress bar displays on the IM to indicate the download percentage.
5. See Figure 2. A pop-up displays on the IM when the software has been successfully downloaded.
6. After update has completed, cycle vehicle's Ignition switch position (IGN) OFF. Wait 5 minutes to allow vehicle to perform a sleep cycle. Then normal use can be continued.
NOTE
Failure to perform a sleep cycle may result in faults displayed on the IM, and limited performance.
