WARNING

The automatic-on headlamp feature provides increased visibility of the rider to other motorists. Be sure headlamp is on at all times. Poor visibility of rider to other motorists can result in death or serious injury. (00030b)

Prepare

1.	Check tire pressure.
2.	Adjust rear shock preload for rider and intended load.
3.	Fill fuel tank or add an equal amount of ballast.

Check Alignment

1.	See Figure 1. Park the motorcycle on a line (1) perpendicular to the wall.
2.	Set vehicle distance from wall to front axle. Distance: 7.6 m (25 ft)
3.	Draw a vertical centerline (2) on the wall aligned with line (1).
4.	With the motorcycle loaded, point the front wheel straight forward at wall. Measure the distance (4) from the floor to the center of headlamp.
5.	Draw a horizontal line (5) through vertical line (2) using the same height measurement as low beam bulb centerline (4).
6.	Align the top of the hot spot to horizontal line (5) with headlamp set to low beam.
7.	Adjust headlamp, if necessary.

Adjust

Round: Heritage Classic 114 (FLHCS), Street Bob 114 (FXBBS), Low Rider S (FXLRS), and Softail Standard (FXST):

1.	Low Rider^® S (FXLRS): Remove fairing. See Operation → Fairing.
2.	See Figure 2. Adjust headlamp horizontal alignment. a. Loosen horizontal adjustment screw (2). Adjust headlamp horizontally to direct light beam straight ahead. b. Tighten horizontal adjustment screw: Torque: 25–40.6 N·m (18–30 ft-lbs) Heritage Classic 114 (FLHCS) Torque: 29.8–37.9 N·m (22–28 ft-lbs) Street Bob 114 (FXBBS), Low Rider S (FXLRS), Softail Standard (FXST)
3.	Adjust headlamp vertical alignment. a. Loosen vertical adjustment screw (1). Adjust headlamp vertically until beam centers on horizontal line. b. Tighten vertical adjustment screw (1): Torque: 36.6–43.3 N·m (27–32 ft-lbs)
4.	Low Rider^® S (FXLRS): Install fairing.

Round: Sport Glide (FLSB):

1.	Sport Glide^™ (FLSB): Remove fairing. See Operation → Fairing. NOTE Horizontal alignment is not adjustable on Sport Glide^™ (FLSB) headlamp.
2.	See Figure 2. Adjust headlamp vertical alignment. a. Loosen vertical adjustment screw (1). Adjust headlamp vertically until beam centers on horizontal line. b. Tighten vertical adjustment screw (1): Torque: 36.6–43.3 N·m (27–32 ft-lbs)
3.	Sport Glide^™ (FLSB): Install fairing.

Breakout (FXBR), Fat Bob 114 (FXFBS)

1.	See Figure 3 and Figure 4. Loosen vertical adjustment screw (3). Adjust headlamp vertically until beam centers on horizontal line.
2.	Tighten vertical adjustment screw (3): Torque: 13.5–17.6 N·m (10–13 ft-lbs) Breakout (FXBR) Torque: 14.9–19 N·m (11–14 ft-lbs) Fat Bob 114 (FXFBS)

1.	See Figure 5. Rotate horizontal adjustment screw (1). Adjust headlamp horizontally to direct light beam straight ahead.
2.	Rotate vertical adjustment screw (2). Adjust headlamp vertically until beam centers on horizontal line.

Low Rider ST (FXLRST)

1.	See Figure 6. Rotate trim ring (3) counterclockwise to disengage trim ring hooks (4) from docking points (5) and remove.
2.	Rotate horizontal adjustment screw (1). Adjust headlamp horizontally to direct light beam straight ahead.
3.	Rotate vertical adjustment screw (2). Adjust headlamp vertically until beam centers on horizontal line.
4.	Install trim ring. a. Align trim ring hooks (4) with docking points (5). b. Rotate trim ring (3) clockwise into position. c. Pull out on trim ring to verify that it is locked at all docking points.

Replacing Headlamp

The headlamp contains no replaceable bulbs. The entire assembly must be replaced upon failure. See a Harley-Davidson dealer for service.
