NOTE
The instrument backlight activates after a slight delay. Changes to ambient lighting, such as going through a tunnel, may briefly change backlighting.
Speedometer
WARNING
Travel at speeds appropriate for road and conditions and never travel faster than posted speed limit. Excessive speed can cause loss of vehicle control, which could result in death or serious injury. (00008a)
See Operation → Indicators → Instrument Lamps. The speedometer (1) registers miles per hour (U.S. models) or kilometers per hour (international models).
Odometer
See Operation → Indicators → Instrument Lamps. The odometer (13) window is located in the speedometer face. The ignition switch must be in the IGNITION position.
The odometer window provides the following selectable displays:
Press and release the TRIP/ODOMETER reset (7) button to cycle through the displays.
Trip Odometers A and B
See Operation → Indicators → Instrument Lamps. To check or to reset the trip odometers, press and release the TRIP/ODOMETER reset (7) button to display either the A or B trip odometer. An A or B in the upper left of the display window identifies the trip odometer.
To reset trip odometers, select the A or B odometer. Press the TRIP/ODOMETER reset button and hold for approximately three seconds. The trip odometer resets to zero.
Tachometer
See Operation → Indicators → Instrument Lamps. Press and release the TRIP/ODOMETER reset (7) button to cycle through the odometer displays to select the tachometer display. The odometer shows the engine speed in revolutions per minute (rpm).
