
DANGER
This vehicle contains a high voltage Rechargeable Energy Storage System (RESS). An improperly handled or damaged RESS can cause electrical shock and/or fire, which will result in death or serious injury.
RESS must only be serviced by a qualified technician using proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Do not touch RESS connecter terminals with fingers, tools, jewelry, or other metal objects.
Do not disconnect, disassemble, or use RESS for other than its intended use.
Improper charging, impact or exposure to fire can damage the RESS.
A damaged RESS can leak electrolyte and/or generate flammable gas.

Always wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while handling RESS.
If electrolyte comes in contact with eyes, skin, or clothing, rinse affected area with clean water and seek medical attention immediately.

ASSESSMENT
Interview customer if present.
Is EV behaving erratically?
Has the EV been dropped?
Has EV been in an Accident?
If customer has indicated yes to any of the above questions, or customer is not present: Go To: Step 2.
If customer has not indicated yes to any of the above questions, or has not indicated any unusual EV behavior, proceed with normal service intake. Go To: SET UP SERVICE.
Visually inspect EV for following conditions.
Is there any visible damage?
Has EV been in an accident?
Is battery leaking?
Is battery hissing?
Is battery smoking?
Is battery making a crackling sound?
Is there excessive heat in battery?
If you notice any of conditions iii through vii, immediately evacuate the area and call emergency responders.
If none of the above conditions are noticed, proceed with normal service intake. Go To: SET UP SERVICE.
EV DROPPED
If the EV is dropped while at the dealership:
SET UP SERVICE
If no unusual conditions are present, follow standard shop procedures, including checking DTCs, then set up, service, and maintain the EV. When reviewing DTCs always use suggested PPE per the Electrical Diagnostics Manual before beginning any service procedure.
REMEMBER: Do not attempt to service the battery or it's connectors under any condition or circumstance.
