| 1. | Park the motorcycle on a level surface leaning on the jiffy stand. | |
| 2. | See Figure 1. Remove the transmission lubricant dipstick. Wipe the dipstick clean. | |
| 3. | Insert dipstick into transmission. Rest the with filler plug on the threads. Do not thread in. | |
| 4. | See Figure 2. Remove the dipstick. Check lubricant level on dipstick. | |
NOTICE Mixing mineral-based lubricants with SYN-3 in the transmission can damage the transmission. (00452b) | ||
| 5. | The level should be between the A and F marks. Add lubricant if necessary. Refer to Table 1. | |
| 6. | Install the dipstick. Tighten to 2.8–8.5 N·m (25–75 in-lbs). |
