1. | See Figure 1. Align seat hinge with the mounting bracket on the frame. | |
2. | From the right side of the motorcycle, insert the screw (1) into the seat hinge and tighten to 19–21.7 N·m (14–16 ft-lbs). | |
3. | Align bushings on seat springs (2) with the mounting pins (3). Push rear of seat down to engage the seat spring mounting pins. |
1. | Remove the seat. | |
2. | See Figure 2. Remove the nut on the seat hinge. | |
3. | Remove the bolts from the seat spring support bracket. NOTE See Figure 3. The seat hinge and seat spring support bracket must be installed in the same position (forward or rearward configuration) for the seat to fit properly on the motorcycle. | |
4. | To position seat forward: a. See Figure 3. Install hinge with the front tab in the slot. b. Install seat spring support bracket with springs toward the rear of the seat. | |
5. | To position seat rearward: a. See Figure 3. Install hinge with the rear tab in the slot. b. Install seat spring support bracket with springs toward the front of the seat. | |
6. | Install nut on seat hinge and tighten to 27.1–33.9 N·m (20–25 ft-lbs). | |
7. | Install screws for seat spring support bracket and tighten to 20.3–27.1 N·m (15–20 ft-lbs). | |
8. | Install seat. |
