NOTICE
Control wiring is routed inside handlebar and may be pinched or cut if controls are rotated too far. Electrical damage to control wiring can result. See Service Manual Supplement or see a Harley-Davidson dealer. (00363a)
1. Loosen control assembly and hand lever clamp fasteners only enough to allow movement for adjustment purposes, use caution to not loosen too much to allow cable pinch.
2. See Figure 1. Align left hand controls and brake hand lever for operator comfort with clamping surface (1) located within the range marks (2).
3. Tighten switch housing fasteners to 4–5.1 N·m (35–45 in-lbs).
4. Tighten brake hand lever clamp fasteners to 8.1–12.2 N·m (72–108 in-lbs).
5. See Figure 2. Align right hand controls and clutch hand lever for operator comfort with clamping surface (1) located within the range marks (2).
6. Tighten switch housing fasteners to 4–5.1 N·m (35–45 in-lbs).
7. Tighten clutch hand lever clamp fasteners to 8.1–12.2 N·m (72–108 in-lbs).
